Why has yahoo abandoned us?
I’ve been using yahoo for many years: yahoo search, yahoo toolbar, yahoo mail, yahoo maps, yahoo tv guide, etc.
I’ve always been satisfied till now. They messed up the tool-bar. Yahoo search is less efficient than ever. Yahoo mail is full of glitches. their TV guide has gone from the best to a pile of doo-doo. Now their maps have gone from excellent to something I’d rather not have to scrape off of my shoe.
Has Yahoo lost their collective mind?
Right on! I can’t stand the fact that they probably actually (hard to believe) paid someone to do that stupid new TV site. They probably paid so much that an executive would be too embarassed to go back. You’re right about the maps, too. In both cases, it was a big step backwards. I can’t comment so much on the other issues.
I’ve always liked Yahoo for a web search because I usually take the opportunity to do a quick check of the weather, tv, news, and e-mail. The ads are part of the business and I respect that.
Now, a quick check of the tv is no longer possible. I don’t have the time it takes to wait for it to load while a stare at a bunch of useless pictures.
Yahoo weather has never been that good and is getting worse.
Yahoo is not the best search engine but they have had the best features. If they let the features go downhill, they will lose the bigger game.
