saw a documentary some time ago, it was about british visitors to the states and how a small minority were now
being barred from entering because of commiting minor offences in the US. The main one was driving offences( i know this to be true as i found driving in the US difficult, . i was stopped in st petersburg, florida for driving on the wrong side of the road), but when the police officer heard my british accent he didnt give me a ticket, he just explained and helped me, he was really nice. However some brits have been given tickets for speeding, careless driving etc, but never paid the fine, because they werent sure what to do or left the country . when they have returned they have been arrested at the airport because of warrants issued and then deported. In the uk these are not criminal offences only fixed penalties (ie a fine but no criminal offence, is speeding and careless driving a criminal offence in the US
They didn’t get arrested because of the ticket it was for (Failure to appear).
