Going to Inauguration Parties?
I am young professional male 25ish coming to Washington DC for Inauguration Week. Friday 1/16 to Wednes. 1/21. How would you get to the parties if you did not have a car? I know their is a Metro, but does it go by any of these places. I heard H20, Love, Modern, 1223, Lotus, Zanzibar, & KStreet should be places to go to if I go out. Any other parties/nightclubs during this duration that would be cool to try at this time? However, I will be in the Baltimore area or Alexandria area. I am just looking for hip places that attract a young professional crowd that are convenient to get too.
D.C. bars are going to be open until 5:00 a.m. and there will be a party in every one of them. This town is gearing up for a true celebration in every sense of the word. If you have a choice, choose Alexandria. It’s much, much closer to D.C. and you’ll find it much easier to get around. Baltimore is at least 40 minutes away with limited ground transportation.
From Alexandria you can use Metro, but you might want to try to rent a car and driver for the night if that’s a possibility. Otherwise, taxis are the only option for some of the clubs you mention. Look them up on the internet and use Mapquest or Google for directions. You’ll see what I mean. If you’re traveling with companions, it could make a driver more affordable.
All the clubs you mention cater to your crowd, but you won’t have time to do every such club in town. Just getting to the bar will take a long time. Select 3 that appeal to you and start there, then add others as time allows.
Drink a glass of water after every 3rd drink, by the way. The cops around here don’t put up with much rowdiness and you’ll feel better in the morning.
