Local Night Clubs

someone please recommend some good “straight” night clubs in san francisco?

Ok i’m going to be in San Francisco from around August 11 (tues-thur) -Aug 13.

Can someone please recommend or tell me names/links of good straight night clubs?

Here is a little about me:

Male, straight, 27 years old. I like hip hop, reggaeton, rock..dance music. Any place with pretty not too stuck up women. I like a nice club but no way too fancy like where you got to dress up in a tie. Just a nice nightclub where i can dance maybe wear jeans but nice dress shirt.

I suspect there’s a reluctance to answer this question because (1) it is actually against the law for a venue to deny entry to anyone on the basis of sexual orientation; and (2) the best nightclubs are mixed venues in SOMA.

South of Market (SOMA) was the center of the dotcom economy in the 1990s. Since that bubble imploded, the neighborhood has become the edgy “it” nightlife district in San Francisco, with promoters transforming the empty space left by those failed internet companies into dance floors. While some of these clubs are more “straight” or “gay” than others, they do share the same neighborhood. So, there’s an element of unpredictability to the movement of the crowds and lots of crossover.

If you’re uncomfortable with the concept, there are more traditional straight venues in North Beach (Little Italy), Union Square, the Haight, and the Marina District. Though often derided as “touristy” and “old-school” by locals, you can have plenty of fun in these neighborhoods. Many cities in the Midwest would be happy with the range of nightlife on offer in Little Italy alone.
