Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas?

It’s my friend’s 21st birthday this Thursday July 3rd. I used to live in Vegas and I know people that got us on the guestlist for TAO at the Venetian. Can somebody tell me their experiences at TAO? We will be staying at the Venetian and my friend definitely wants to go. We are going with a group of like 5 girls, so not really big. Also we will not be doing the whole bottle service thing, simply cannot afford it!

Is the music fun? How’s the dance floor? The crowd? The bars, the drinks? Just tell me eveyrthing you know about TAO. I have read some good reviews and bad, but want to hear more! Thank you, 10 points for the best input :)

I’ve found Tao to almost always be a good time. There’s 3 different areas to choose from. Tao Lounge (downstairs), Tao nightclub (upstairs) and Tao Beach (outside, if it’s open). So it actually ends up being a very large and diverse place.

It’s going to be packed on Thursday! It’s locals night and it’s the start of a holiday weekend. Tao on occasion lets too many people in the club. I’ve been there on nights where there was barely room to breathe. Be prepared to sweat and be up in peoples business.

Drinks are about the same as any other Vegas club. Count on about $10/drink. Some bartenders know how to make drinks and others don’t. It’s luck of the draw.

Music is mostly house and hip-hop, with some rock in the main room.. But it’ll depend on who’s dj’ing that night. The dance floor is always packed. Tao attracts a lot of good looking people.. that could be a good or bad thing.

Being on “the list” you still might have a long wait if you don’t go early enough. Again, it will be PACKED this Thursday.

If you can find Jimmy (the mood director, his real title), he’ll probably hook you up with some free shots.. or maybe more since it’s a birthday.
