1st advise, Don’t go to California! Everything there is so over produced and unnatural!!! If you want to see the natural wonders of the US I would suggest making a nice road trip through the 4 corners region (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Neveda) There are a lot of things to do in that area. Old tribal ruins, natural land marks, Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Hovenweep National Monument, Mesa Verde National Park, Sleeping Ute Mountains, Abajo Mountains and the Chuska Mountains. It’s beautiful there. Then you could make your way up highway-550 in Colorado and explore Durango, Telluride and the black canyon of Gunnison. Once you get to I-70 I would suggest heading west and taking the detour to Moab, Utah. You may want to spend a few days, rent a jeep and take some trials in that area. It is by far one of the most astonishing place I have ever seen! The best thing about these places on this list is that they are not very populated. You can take your time and enjoy the natural wonders without being crowded. Hope this helps!!!
