people who have/had owned a bar/grill?

im thinking of opening up a bar that serves food like a bar and grill type of thing(but mostly bar). almost something like buffalo wild wings.maybe from your expieriences, is a bar a good place to open up? the location is perfect for one.
or should i open up a night club/bar thing? i live close to milwaukee, wisconsin so i dont know if a nightclub is a thing people here want to do. but there is no nightclubs so maybe it would be a good idea.
also, i dont cook. so where would i get food? is there a company that sells resturant food or something?

You need to get a feel for your demographics. Who do you want to cater to? What age group(s)? Do you plan on having bands perform live or do you just want a sports bar with big screen TVs? You say your location is perfect. Why do you feel that way? Good foot traffic? Plenty of parking?

Your menu might have buffalo wild wings. OK. What about burgers, fries, onion rings, salads, appetizers (mozzarella sticks, deep fried mushrooms, salsa & chips, [fish tacos are very popular in the Pacific Northwest]. Have you thought about daily specials like a burger and a beer for $4.00? Tuesday Taco Special $1.00 per taco – from 4 pm – 9 pm? Martini night? Also, what are your sauces for your buffalo wings?

Since you don’t cook, you are going to need a cook / chef……….

You are going to have to check in to what licenses you will need. Liquor license. Business license. ETC……
