Your guide to the hottest hangouts around town.

Which in your opinion is cheaper, Prague or Budapest?
I’ve been to both cities before but just for a few hours so I didn’t really have time to experience either. But if you were going to one of those cities for 3 weeks which would you think would be better value?
I already have good hotel deals for both so really wondering about all the other stuff, eating out, pubs, nightclubs, taxis, public transportation etc. Thanks……and happy New Year, folks! 2009 here in Ireland already!
I have been to Slovakia about 10 times and know a few words of Slovak (very similar to Czech) But can’t even say “hi!” in Hungarian (very difficult language)
Prices in both cities are increasing, but I think Budapest is cheaper than Prague. The 2008 Mercer rankings of most expensive cities (cost of living) actually places Prague several spots ahead of Stockholm (number 29, up 20 spots from the previous year). Budapest is number 61.
