Can anyone give me a rough guide of costs in Prague – eating out, taxis, beer etc…?

Any rough prices on the cost of eating in good restaurants and bars plus how much would a taxi from the airport cost into the old town area…. in local currency….

Heading there in two weeks so just wondered how much….

Any help is greatly received….

Geez, that all depends on your budget – how much you’re willing to spend. Good restaurants and bars consume a lot of money.

As for taxis, there is something you must be aware of if you didn’t know. There are taxi drivers that rip tourists off (by overcharging than its usual cost).

If you would like to take a taxi from the airport, either arrange it beforehand to be picked up or call a taxi by phone at arrival. If you have to get into a random taxi that’s parked at the airport terminal, confirm the price with the driver before you get in. A ride from the Prague airport to a destination in the center should costaround 550-800 CZK.

It is always better to call a radiotaxi even if you are in Prague as it is always better and mostly cheaper than to catch the taxi on the street.

Beer are cheap as far as I know, but I don’t drink alcohol, so I can’t say for sure in local currency but…

About 30p to 60p (in English money) a pint depending on where in Prague i.e pub, supermarket, etc..

But I can assure you’re going to need a lot of money than that, just to be on safe side.

Hope this helps.
