21′st bday in san jose?
Hey guys, my friend is turning 21 this saturday and she wants to go to san jose to drink and go bar hopping. Some people suggested Santana Row but it sounds expensive. Which is better, Santana row or downtown and why? Do many places have cover charges?????
thanks!
I wouldn’t assume that Santana Row is “more” expensive just because it’s the Row. Drinks can and are plenty expensive in downtown S.J. too, just depends on where you go and what kind of b-day party you are wanting to experience.
Santana Row is a GREAT place to have fun and bar hop in a safe environment with a great energy that has it’s own uniqueness in every bar. Only thing you won’t find readily available is “dancing”. Rosie’s is pretty much the only place that you’ll be able to dance. There will be music everywhere, but the only continuous dance floor is Rosie McCann’s. While people may say you can dance at Strait’s, it’s so crowded and the floor is about the size of most living rooms; not exactly a “dance floor”.
So if “Dancing” is a very important theme for your friend’s bday, then you’re better off downtown. The crowd “changes” for the worse, but your options increase when it comes to dancing.
Hope this helps…
