ST. LOUIS DOWNTOWN?! 18+!?
I need to know what casinos and nightclubs/dance clubs in St. Louis, MO are 18+.
Thanks!
There are no casinos or dance clubs in Saint Louis where you can be 18 +. I believe it is the law in Missouri that for casinos, you must be 21 +. Some good alternatives for you would be going to a show at the Fox Theater, a concert at Pop’s (during the week they have djs, so you could dance there), or On Broadway.

Orange County Limousines: How to Find the Right Limousine Model
A limousine rental in Orange County can provide the ideal traveling option for a host of special occasions such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties and corporate events. The right limousine model for a given occasion depends on the travelers’ budget and the time of booking. Models should be carefully considered keeping the budget and traveling requirements in mind, and should be booked as early as possible.
For small groups of around 12 to 15 people where the primary objective is traveling in comfort and style, such as for a prom or bachelor/bachelorette party, the most popular model is a stretch limo. Stretch limousines are classic contemporary models such as the Ford Excursion Stretch, the Navigator Stretch and the Escalade Stretch, and come with all kinds of luxury features including Satellite TV, GPS systems, video games and DVD players. Prices vary depending on features and seating capacity. Stretch limos come in a variety of models ranging from Lincoln Town cars to Rolls Royce, and can provide ideal travel experiences to small groups of all types and budgets.
For large groups of up to 20 people who want to travel, party and make a riotous style statement all at the same time, the ideal limousine type is a Hummer. The Hummer limo is one of the hottest and most luxurious models on the limousine market today and comes with every manner of imaginable comfort, such as laser lightshows, fog machines, plasma televisions and full bars. In fact, any possible feature you can imagine (karaoke machine, casinos, lava lamps) can be featured in a Hummer limo. These limos are sure to attract attention wherever they go, and are one of the most popular limo models in Orange County.
For big groups out on the town for a team celebration or upscale Bachelor’s party, the best model may be a Party Bus. Also known as a ‘land yacht,’ a Party Bus can hold up to 40 people and make for a playful and luxurious time. Depending on budget and customization, these limo buses can offer the ideal partying solution for bachelor parties, family get-togethers and sporting celebrations. The features of a Party Bus are customized by the limousine rental company, and can include everything from a full bar and LCD TV to onboard restrooms and dancing poles. Limo rental companies can also make arrangements for party hostesses and handle other partying, travel and safety needs.
Another limo type popular with young couples and executive groups is the SUV limo. SUV limos are more maneuverable and affordable than Hummers and Party Buses and roomier and more kid-friendly than stretch limos. These limos can comfortably seat up to 6 people, provide a lot of luggage capacity and kid-friendly features such as baby seats. Bigger SUV models can match the roominess of a Hummer without compromising on safety. The features of SUV limos can vary depending on model and rental company, and can be the ideal combination of low-key luxury and safety. The Cadillac Escalade ESV, Yukon XL and Chevrolet Suburban are some popular SUV models.
When booking a limousine model, it is always a good idea to allow for extra room and also ask about special discounts and perks. Prices vary depending on the type, features and availability of a given model. Orange County limousine rental services are especially busy during graduation party season, wedding seasons and weekends, so advance planning and early booking are essential for getting the ideal model.

An Argentine Gem Hidden No More
EVERY August, the people of Jujuy pay tribute to the earth goddess Pachamama. Families prepare elaborate dishes — tamales, stews, llama or lamb — and then bury the food in a backyard or field, along with abundant hard liquor, coca leaves and even cigarettes. They believe that these offerings will satisfy the deity’s appetites and thus bring them good fortune and an abundant harvest. It’s an ancient Andean tradition that remains strong in this province in the northwestern corner of Argentina.
In a country likened more to Europe than the rest of Latin America, Jujuy stands apart.
Here, pagan rituals overshadow Catholic beliefs, medicine men are sometimes preferred to doctors, and everyone, regardless of ancestry, embraces an indigenous heritage that dates back to the 10th century.
“The culture of Jujuy has little to do with the rest of the country,” said Héctor Tizón, a renowned Argentine writer born in a small town near the province’s capital, San Salvador de Jujuy. “The culinary arts, the music, customs and architecture are autochthonous.”
But perhaps the most singular aspect of Jujuy is its dramatic landscape: more than 20,000 square miles of salt deserts, untamed jungles and an endless maze of multicolored rocky mountains rising up to 16,000 feet, threaded by a scenic ravine called Quebrada de Humahuaca — a onetime Inca trade route leading north to Bolivia, now a Unesco World Heritage site.
Until recently, Jujuy (pronounced hoo-HWEE) remained in relative obscurity, visited mostly by adventure travelers. With no major cities to speak of and few flights arriving at its modest international airport, anonymity wasn’t hard. But Argentina’s financial crisis in 2001 led many of its citizens to explore their own country, a cheaper alternative to flying abroad. It didn’t take long for sophisticated Porteños, as residents of Buenos Aires are called, to discover Jujuy. At the same time, the rising popularity of nearby Salta’s wineries started attracting worldly visitors to the region. The result has been an unexpected syncretism of cosmopolitan culture and age-old traditions, two very different worlds gradually embracing each other.
“Maybe this is one of the things we have the crisis to thank for,” Facundo Arana, an actor from Buenos Aires who was visiting Jujuy in May, said of the region’s breakthrough as a tourist destination. “Jujuy cannot be put into words; it seeps in through your eyes, your ears and your soul.”
Mr. Arana, a tall, blond and slightly scruffy heartthrob, was touring the north on a motorcycle while a camera crew documented his journey for a show promoting health awareness. He said the Quebrada de Humahuaca’s silent beauty captivated him during his first trip to Jujuy a decade ago.
Back then, travelers were in for a rustic journey, with few options for accommodations along the 10 small towns that flank the ravine.
Now, about a dozen boutique lodgings have opened in or near the 100-mile route, most of them decorated by the design firm Usos. Started in 2001 by the local architects Carlos Gronda and Arturo de Tezanos Pinto, Usos draws inspiration from the history, traditions and idiosyncrasies of the region to create folkloric-chic furniture, objects and installations.
At Huacalera, a roadside ranch in the heart of the Quebrada that was converted last year into a hotel and spa, Usos outfitted the lobby with three boldly colored round tables backed by a wall of round mirrors. The tables display a variety of evocative figurines: tiny llamas, potted miniature cactuses and an army of ekekos, good-luck amulets that look like toy representations of Clark Gable — if he wore traditional Andean costumes and colorful wool hats.
“We create objects with identity,” said Mr. Tezanos Pinto, looking dapper in a cashmere scarf and red sneakers. “Latin America has always looked to the outside; we are convinced that a lot can be achieved by looking at what’s here in the north of Argentina.”
Another Usos collaboration is Casa Colorada, a secluded retreat floating above the clouds on a 10,000-foot-high plateau surrounded by mountain peaks. The path that leads there — the Camino a la Garganta del Diablo, or the Road to the Devil’s Gorge — begins at Tilcara, a small town of adobe constructions with a bustling central plaza where Indian vendors sell their crafts by day and street musicians play their charangos (small guitars) by night.
Less than a mile into the journey, the road begins to live up to its name: this steep and curvy path along the edge of a cliff is not for the faint of heart. If a passenger finds the will to relax, the 40-minute ride is spectacular, passing through massive sandstone quarries, a reserve of giant cacti called cardones, ancient farming terraces and, finally, a sprawling stone-walled ranch with red roofs.
The living area of this 10-room estate, decorated with ample white sofas and throw pillows in purple shades — a palette often seen in Indian clothing — looks out into a serene horizon of pale green ranges. Guests can book treks or horseback rides of varying difficulty, some along steep mountain trails, and others along streams and fields where pumas, condors and vicuñas can be spotted. Meals are prepared by a staff of local cooks who might serve a starter of tamales and an entree of Andean fingerling potatoes, broad beans and rolled chicken breast with mushrooms.
Jujuy’s cuisine, like the rest of its traditions, is a convergence of colonial and pre-Hispanic influences. Some of the region’s fare, like tamales and grilled llama, is common in several Latin American countries. Others, like locro, a rich corn-and-meat stew, are specifically associated with northwest Argentina.
Restaurants are beginning to offer upscale versions of these staples. El Nuevo Progreso in Tilcara, a bohemian spot run by a Buenos Aires transplant, has llama carpaccio with arugula, and beer-braised lamb with chestnut-and-potatoes mash. Diners linger here sipping regional red wine, surrounded by the owner’s own abstract paintings, listening to jazz CDs or live folkloric music.
While Tilcara has several dining options and services, Purmamarca has the most charm among the Quebrada’s towns. It is tiny — just a few blocks of adobe houses, rustic bars and shops selling everything from silver jewelry and alpaca sweaters to dolls and medicinal herbs — but framed by the greatness of the Cerro de los Siete Colores, or the Hill of the Seven Colors, which is a towering rainbow of green, yellow, purple and ocher rock formations.
From this hill stems the Camino de los Colorados, a gravel path along two miles of geologic wonders: red flat-topped mountains, green conical mountains, uneven purple ridges. Farther west, some 40 miles from Purmamarca, is the Salinas Grandes salt desert, an otherworldly expanse of white flatlands that becomes turquoise when it rains.
Surely this haunting scenery inspired many of the local legends, including tales of goblin spirits that live alone in the puna, the Altiplano, and enjoy tormenting rural travelers. Peasants say these lonesome goblins can sometimes be heard singing sad songs amid the hills.
Like the ekeko, the Clark Gable-faced amulet dressed in a bright poncho, standing agape and with open arms waiting for good fortune to arrive, Jujuy may be ready for a new future, but never at the expense of its quirky style.
“Jujuy has a unique essence,” Mr. Tezanos Pintos said. “We have our own stamp.”
GETTING THERE
Aerolíneas Argentinas has daily direct flights from Buenos Aires to San Salvador de Jujuy, the provincial capital. A recent Web search found flights starting at $400. Another option is to fly from Buenos Aires into nearby Salta (LAN Airlines has daily flights) and drive 60 miles north to Jujuy.
Jujuy’s Quebrada de Humahuaca has temperate days and cool nights year-round, with considerably warmer weather from December through March. Carnaval in February, Holy Week in March and Pachamama in August are the most important celebrations.

Peabody Hotel
History
Inside Peabody
The original Peabody hotel was built by Robert Campbell Brinkley in 1869. Before its opening, Brinkley discovered the death of George Peabody. Out of respect for Peabody, which has contributed significantly to the south, named his new hotel "The Peabody.
The original Peabody Hotel, located on the corner of Main and Monroe, was crowned with success. The former president of the Confederacy, Jefferson Davis lived there in 1870 when he worked in Memphis as president of an insurance company. The original Peabody Hotel closed in 1923. The present building of the Hotel Peabody, Union Avenue, was built in 1925 in the former Fransioli Hotel site, which resembled the original Peabody hotel. Designed by famed architect Walter W. Ahlschlager, the Italian Renaissance building has a historical and cultural significance, he said that the Mississippi Delta "begins in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel (Memphis) and ends on Catfish Row in Vicksburg."
Before mid 1960, the liquor was sold in Tennessee only in sealed bottles of liquor stores allowed. The Peabody Hotel has a bar, The Creel, for customers in those days. Customers who bring a bottle, bought in other places, in the basket, and the waiter is the label of the bottle for later retrieval. Then the waiter Mixing drinks bottle of patron on request.
The Peabody again closed in the 1970's, usually in an era of urban decay in many cities USA. Jack County Hotel Belz family purchased in 1975 for $ 400,000 and the years passed and $ 25,000,000 renovation of the historic structure. The grand reopening 1981 Memphis is considered as an important incentive and inspiration for the revitalization of downtown that followed and continues.
Hotels operated by Peabody Hotel Group Peabody Little Rock, Arkansas, and Orlando, Florida. The Peabody Hotel Group Brand Management Division has and operates under the brands of different properties in Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina Southern and Arkansas.
The Peabody Memphis Hotel is featured in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Peabody Ducks
Peabody ducks in the fountain
The Peabody is probably best known around the world a custom which dates back to 1930. The Director General of the day, Frank Schutt, had just returned from a weekend hunting in Arkansas. He and his friends are fun to give up their claims living in the hotel fountain. The guests loved the idea and have since played the Ducks on the power every day.
In 1940, a name by Captain Edward Pembroke volunteered to watch the ducks. Pembroke was given the position of "Duckmaster" and kept that post until 1991. Like a circus animal trainer old taught the ducks to march in the hotel lobby, which started the famous Peabody Duck March. All day at 11 o'clock, the Peabody Ducks are escorted to the penthouse of the Interior on the planting of roof in the lift lobby. Ducks, accompanied by King Cotton March by John Phillip Sousa, and then a red carpet to the hotel fountain, made of Italian travertine marble blocks. The ducks are then solemnly back into your attic at 5:00 pm
Ducks go back and lifts
Over the years, the Peabody ducks have acquired fame with appearances on television (with its Duckmaster) on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Sesame Street, and Oprah Winfrey. They have also appeared in People magazine.
The position of "Duckmaster" at the Peabody Memphis is one of the three posts of this kind in the world, the other two are the Duckmasters in Orlando and Little Rock Peabody Hotel. Celebrities have also assumed the role of Honor Duckmaster time to time, including Paula Deen, Joan Collins, Molly Ringwald, Kevin Bacon, Emeril Lagasse, Patrick Swayze, Queen Noor of Jordan, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.
The habit of keeping ducks in the lobby fountain may further increase beyond 1930. A pre-1915 postcard shows the ducks playing in the fountain, and a source says that the custom goes back to the hotel's opening in 1869.
However, the claims Peabody Duck tradition begun in 1933, 3 December 2008, he unveiled a new "Duck Palace" on the roof, to the 75 th anniversary of the tradition of duck. The 24 by 12 foot room with floor granite, ceiling fans, a scale replica of the hotel, a bronze fountain with a pair of ducks, and a large display so customers can see them in their new home. The Duck Palace costs about $ 200,000 for construction.
Design features
most recognizable features of the Peabody hotel are large red neon "The Peabody" signs elevator shaft and Central Summit Skyway Lounge.
Upstairs, the Skyway area contains a lounge / dance hall, and roof plantation, which offers breathtaking views of the skyscrapers that surround Memphis. The ceiling is often used as a place for bands and other musical performances, especially during the "Group of the roof" on Thursday night in the summer months.
In elevators, you have to press "S" to access the top floor. If this plant were counted, which could press "13" to achieve, but because of superstitions about the number thirteen, the management decided to appeal to the top floor "of the Skyway."
Acts
During the Big Band era, the Skyway was the place to be at night. The ballroom was one of the few sites United States, CBS aired live from the week. Regular headliners including Tommy Dorsey and Andrews Sisters. Today, the Skyway is known around Memphis legendary Sunday Brunch with champagne Skyway served promptly at 12 noon.

Confused, he was a total loss? Exercise and eat! Please help confused?!?
right i started an aerobics class this afternoon for an hour and it was fun and a good workout, I was not hungry after that, when my mother asked what I ate today, she said if you eat better if I do something I'll gain weight >??!? something to do with your body thinks there's a kind of hunger today -!?!? —— Breakfast orange and oatmeal walked to school (30 minutes) Lunch – Ham and salad sandwich, banana, orange, hot and bar marshmellow?! mini square chedders walked home – about 30 minutes of 530 tea, salad, garlic bread and a bowl of SPAG with lots of vegetables per hour. Then I had an aerobics class. I got home and then My mother says it only has some Coco Pops, I thought better safe than sorry?! Anyway, for the future, what should I do?! Do I need eat or not, I was not hungry, but do not want to gain weight?! ps I have 15 years of age, 140 pounds and 5 feet 7.
This is a good idea to have a little protein after exercise – Coco Pops are not the best for you – next time scrambled eggs or grilled chicken instead – that will help convert fat into muscle – Muscle can be heavier than fat, but it is also smaller and more muscle you have the more calories you burn, even when you are sitting doing nothing for a clearer definition of fat! Hope that helps xxx
