Looking for hotels in san diego by the water and good view.?

my boyfriend and i are going to be in san diego July 8th-10th and I am looking for a hotel with a nice view of beach with balcony? i dont want to pay more than $200 a night. preferbly by pacific or mission bay. any suggestions? Also how close are these beaches to downtown nightclubs?
